Deeply rooted in the town’s history, New North Church honors its past and is excited about the future. Here, we worship God and serve our neighbor. Built in 1806, we can trace our history back to the War of Independence through the people who once sat in our pews, people like General Benjamin Lincoln and Canterbury Barnes; the Thaxters, Hersheys, Cushings, and Andrews – the people who helped built this town, in other words.
We are also proud of our history. In the years before the Civil War, New North Church was active as an abolitionist church, and helped end ‘architectural segregation’ in Hingham.
Your gifts help preserve not just the building, but our history, community worship, and outreach ministries.
