Harvest Dance

Put on your dancing shoes!
On Saturday, October 6, New North Church, 1 Lincoln Street, Hingham, will host a family-oriented Harvest Square Dance that’s geared towards beginners and open to the entire community. The event is a fundraiser to support the ongoing restoration of both the ballroom and the church’s Ruth Curry parlor.
The square dance will be held in the church’s second-floor ballroom from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. and will feature dancing directed by experienced caller Steve Parks. Light refreshments will be provided. Along with the square dance, there will be a silent auction which includes items such as wooden toys, wine and food baskets, a Lowe’s gift certificate and a surprise item from the Bare Cove Fire Museum.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 14 and $25 for a family of four. Advance tickets are available at La Petite Maison and Whitney Gordon Jewelers in Hingham Square. They may also be purchased at the door on October 6.
The church welcomes the donation of additional items for the auction. All donated items must be in new or as-new condition. They may be dropped off during office hours (Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 to 5:00) or after New North’s 10:30 a.m. Sunday services. (If you have never been inside the historic church, feel free to ask for a tour!)
If you need assistance with a delivery or wish additional information about the square dance, call the church at 781-749-2341 or send an email to pastor@newnorthchurch-hingham.org.
New North is a non-denominational Christian church that worships in the Congregational style and welcomes people from all faith traditions. Its services and programs are open to the entire community. Thanks to all who wish to help preserve and protect our historic 1806 meeting house.
